Saturday 11th June 202222:00LATE NIGHT LISTENERS
We are planning a trial night on June 11th 2022 with a team of 5 of us to be out from 10.20 ish - 1am. The aim is to set up our table in front of the Dessert Shop (which I believe has closed down?) as usual but just serving hot/cold drinks (not sweets or biscuits at this stage) plus using some of our usual resources. I will be purchasing a couple of new urns for us to use.

Saturday 25th June 202210:30 - 14:30LICHFIELD CITY OF SANCTUARY AGM
Celebration of Lichfield District City of Sanctuary Dear Friends and Members, Thank you for your support and friendship over the past nine months. In the nearly three years of our existence as an organisation and our nine months as a registered charity, we have established ourselves as a small but, I believe, valuable source of support to refugees seeking sanctuary in the district of Lichfield and Burntwood. We have also found a place in the local scene, having developed strong relationships with local authorities, voluntary organisations, businesses and local services. I am therefore delighted to invite you, on behalf of the trustees of Lichfield District City of Sanctuary, to our first Annual General Meeting. This will not be a boring round of “business”! We will receive the annual report of the trustees and the charity’s first accounts (both attached, along with the agenda), and we will elect trustees. Anyone wishing to stand should contact me, please. But the meeting will be a celebration of what we have achieved, a determination of how we want to grow, and what we want to accomplish in the next few months and years. There will also be a delicious buffet provided by our Syrian and Afghan families, with entertainment by a local musician! The Annual General Meeting will be at 10.30am on Saturday 25th June at Boley Park Community Hall, 7 Ryknild St, Lichfield WS14 9XU. We will finish at 2.30pm. Free parking is available at the far end of the Co-Operative Food Hall car park off Roman Road. Access to the hall is via the main entrance on Ryknild Street. It is suitable for people with disabilities. Doors will open at 10.15 for a brisk start to the business at 10.30, when members should attend to elect trustees and to raise any issues about the attached report and accounts. Guests, partners and children are invited to attend from 11.15 for activities, conversations about our past and future, participatory (for those who wish) entertainment, lunch and a performance. We invite friends and contacts because we need to hear from and talk with all who are affected by the work we do. Please reply to this email as soon as possible if you plan to come and how many adults and children you will bring with you. We hope to see as many of you as we can! Best wishes,
