The organisers of a scheme helping families in Lichfield with the cost of school uniform say they have been “overwhelmed” by support from the community.
Uniform and stationery items have been handed over by generous locals – so much so that they are now placing a deadline tomorrow (8th August) for anyone else wanting to help the scheme.
“We have been collecting donations for the past two weeks and have had an amazingly generous response from local people – we were overwhelmed.
“We now have plenty of uniform to sort and we would urge anyone who still wants to donate, to take items to collection points at Tesco or Donegal House by 8th August.
“I’d also like to thank Charlotte Aspley, Tesco’s community champion, for all the support she has given too.”
A collection event will take place at the Lichfield Guildhall between 2pm and 4pm on 29th August where people can go and collect items of pre-loved uniform and stationery for free.
