Hustings
In the lead up to the General Election of 4 July 2024, Lichfield Cathedral in partnership with Churches Together in Lichfield will be host to a hustings on Friday 28 June at 19:00.
Local candidates have been invited to present their political campaign points and answer questions posed by the audience. The hustings aims to give all political candidates an equal opportunity to express its position, and will be chaired by the Interim Dean of Lichfield, Bishop Jan McFarlane.
Important Information:
The event is open to all.
- Doors will open no earlier than 18:30.
- Seating is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
- We have a no bags policy in place for this event, any bag larger than a small handbag will likely be searched on arrival.
- For those unable to attend in person, the event will be live streamed via Lichfield Live
- There will be no vehicular access to the Close before or during the event.
- Limited accessible spaces are available (5) outside the Cathedral.
- Once the accessible spaces are full, those with accessible needs will can be dropped off. Vehicles will be asked to park outside of the Close.
- There is plenty of parking in and around Lichfield. Full parking information can be found here.
- This is an apolitical event to allow voices to be heard equally. Anyone that detracts from this purpose will be given fair warnings and may be asked to leave the event if they persist.
