Lichfield Christian Schools Work Trust
Although Covid limited the face to face contacts the Trust strives to achieve with young people, the individual projects still managed to make a difference in the lives of young people in Lichfield.
Schools Weeks
These were delivered as on line packages to primary schools over Easter and were warmly received. The breadth of thespian talent in churches ensured a good representation of the Easter story was produced.
At Christmas, face to face sessions were delivered once more. They were restricted to single classes visiting Wade Street Church but again proved very popular with Easter 2022 sessions being fully booked and additional sessions laid on to cover all schools.
Bridge Builders
This project was limited to delivering one employability/mock interview session to Year 12 students at Friary School. Volunteers and students warmly welcomed the chance to take part and the feedback was very positive.
Engage Mentoring
Thsi project continued to thrive and grow during the year. Covid restrictions did get in the way, but the numbers of students being supported has increased and the volunteer mentors available has grown from 12 to 35 in just over 3 years. This has ensured students needing support are given the time and sessions to help them live their lives to the full. The project has also taken on another project worker to expand the service in primary schools.
Without the financial support and seed funding from Churches Together, the project would have had to close.
The Trust has recruited another 4 Trustees to ensure the fantastic progress continues to be delivered. Christian Faith in Action. The success of the Trust was highlighted in a 25th celebration event at Lichfield Cathedral in October. Over 75 people attended and heard from volunteers and students about how much they had been impacted by the Trust.
