Treasurer’s Report for the year ended 31 December 2022
During 2022, we began to return to a more normal life following the lifting of many of the restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic. Enabling Group and Forum meetings were held in person, and it was good to be able to meet together again. On Christmas Day, Gaynor and her team hosted the meal at Wade Steet Church, and oven-ready meals were delivered and ‘phone calls made to those who would otherwise have been isolated. St Easter, we again held the Good Friday Walk of Witness followed by a service at the Methodist Church, then an evening service at the Cathedral. All were well attended. An intrepid team shook buckets at the Greenhill Bower Day and our share of the collection was £150 towards the costs of Christmas Day Together. Late Night Listeners re-commenced, and CTiL now holds the funds for that excellent project. As ever, huge thanks go to the volunteers who organised and distributed the Christmas Day Together meal; planned and ran Lent groups, collected at Bower Day, and those who support the governance and administration of the organisation. Thank you.
Financially, it was a reasonably quiet year. General income was £1,318, being mainly subscriptions from member churches. Funding of £620 was received for Late Night Listeners. Total expenditure was £3,036, of which £461 related to related to Late Night Listeners and £1,300 for Christmas Day Together. A grant of £350 was made from General Funds towards publicity costs for Lichfield Christian Schools Work Trust and £50 for St. Michael’s “Opening the Book” training day.
We ended the year with a balance of £2,212, which may be spent on any of our charitable purposes.
